A leisure battery powers the internal electrical equipment in the living area of a campervan (such as lighting, compressor fridge, water pump, and USB sockets). Unlike standard starter batteries, it is designed for deep discharge and continuous supply of low currents over long periods. It is charged while driving via a DC-DC charger, from a 230V mains hook-up, or through solar panels.
