We are an officially registered vehicle manufacturer with years of experience and authorizations from Volkswagen and Renault. This ensures the high quality of our conversions. Each Wavecamper undergoes rigorous testing for both functionality and durability, and we use components from reputable brands. Our campers are among the most functional in the world – see individual model descriptions for details.
New Wavecampers are built on factory-new VW or Renault vehicles, configured to your specifications. Available options include panel vans in either commercial (cargo) or passenger versions.
Yes. Customer vehicles can be either a panel van or passenger version. Each vehicle must be verified before acceptance due to variations in specifications that could complicate or prevent the conversion.
Ordering a fully converted Wavecamper from us or our dealers is usually more cost-effective thanks to our supplier agreements and order volumes.
Used vehicles may only slightly reduce costs compared to a new conversion. They often require modifications such as replacing a double passenger seat, additional glazing, or installing a lift-up tailgate. Considering these adjustments, configuring a new vehicle may be more practical.
We recommend converting vehicles 3–6 years old, which are cheaper but still in good condition. Converting vehicles older than 6 years is generally not economical unless they are exceptionally well-maintained.
Orders can be placed directly with us or through our Wavecamper dealer network. An initial consultation allows us to recommend the right model and configuration.
Currently, a customer-configured Wavecamper takes about 5 months due to base vehicle delivery and production scheduling. Dealers with pre-ordered vehicles and reserved slots can shorten this timeframe.
Occasionally, pre-built Wavecampers are available through us or our dealers. Always ask about availability.
Yes, financing options are available through us and our dealer network.
Deposit amounts and payment terms are arranged individually with each dealer.
Yes. We exhibit at major fairs where you can see models, receive expert guidance, and place orders. Special trade fair promotions are often available.
Wavecampers are registered as motor caravans with seating depending on the model (4, 5, or 6 seats). The included bed, table, and kitchen equipment qualify the vehicle as a camper rather than a passenger car.
Vehicles are collected from the dealer or directly from our company. Each undergoes a detailed conversion inspection (over 80 checkpoints), and a sales representative provides a full briefing on all components.
Repairs to the base vehicle or conversion can be carried out at any authorized VW or Renault service center. Conversion work can also be performed by our dealers or caravan service partners. Components from brands like Webasto, Eberspächer, Dometic, Fiamma, and SCA benefit from extensive service networks.
Yes. Our authorization ensures that the conversion does not affect the manufacturer’s warranty. Standard coverage is 2 years for both the base vehicle and conversion, with optional extensions available.
Yes. All certified components – including seats, swivel bases, pop-top roofs, heating systems, and electronics – meet strict safety standards.
Wavecampers include an AGM auxiliary battery (75Ah for VW, 90Ah for Renault) powering LED lighting, 12V/USB outlets, water pump, refrigerator, and auxiliary heater.

A monitoring system gives full control over the battery, and devices like the fridge and heater prevent complete discharge.
No. The engine battery is protected from discharge. It is slightly trickle-charged by solar panels for support.
It requires an external CEE connection. An inverter can optionally supply 230V from the auxiliary battery.
High-quality inverters from Dometic or Büttner Elektronik provide 600–1500W continuous output (1200–2500W peak), powering TVs, laptops, and even coffee machines.

No, all refrigerators operate on 12V only.
Wavecamper fridges are designed to work in extreme heat (up to 70°C / 158°F), feature a 12V Dometic compressor resistant to vibration, have superior insulation, and optimized software for energy efficiency.
With standard usage (fridge, occasional heater, water pump, lights, USB charging), a new auxiliary battery lasts at least 2 days. Solar panels can extend this depending on sunlight. External 230V CEE connection recharges the battery if needed.
A diesel-powered auxiliary heater draws fuel from the main tank. Electricity is used only for start-up, fan operation, and control.
Adjust temperature, schedule heater start/stop, or maintain continuous heat. Optional modules allow control via mobile app.
Approximately 2 liters per day, depending on conditions.
Pop-top roof closed: comfortable down to –20°C.
